International conference and joint work session with education professionals, children and families
SCHOOL TRANSITION AND PROMOTION OF THE RIGHTS OF CHILDREN IN THE PRE-ADOLESCENT STAGE
ABOUT

"School transition and promotion of the rights of children in the pre-adolescent stage " is an international conference and joint work session with education professionals and families, which mark the end of the DREAMS project.
The DREAMS project is a 24-month strategic partnership of the European Erasmus+ programme, which aims to combat early school leaving (ESL), especially in contexts with a strong presence of cultural diversity. The DREAMS project has been carried out by Escola l'Esperança (SP), Instituto Comprensivo Statale Cassarà - Guida (IT), Agrupamento de Escolas do Barreiro (PT), CESIE (IT) and coordinated by La Xixa Teatre (SP), and we hope that the materials developed can be used by many schools throughout Europe.
We wish this conference and work session to be a starting point for the DREAMS methodology to be shared with the educational community in a broad sense, and used to support children during their transition to secondary school and adolescence.
During the conference we will enjoy talks, debates, workshops, theater, music and poetry. The aim of the conference is to disseminate the results of the DREAMS project, and to respond, from the perspective of non-formal education and the enhancement of diversity, to the need to address ESL in a preventive way. Through the content of the conference, we will share with the educational community and families useful tools to 1) identify ESL risk factors before and during the school transition from primary to secondary, and 2) ensure a full, conscious and safe transition .
We invite you to participate in this event that we hope will be as exciting as the DREAMS project has been for all of us.
EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY (teachers, educators, counselors, social workers, policy makers in the field of education, etc.)
FAMILIES (children, parents, guardians, siblings...)
FOR WHOM?
The transition from primary to secondary school is a significant moment in the lives of children. It is not just an academic transition, it is, above all, the transition from childhood to adolescence. For this reason, it is important to talk about it, listen to what children have to say about it, and think about how to ensure a full, conscious and safe transition.
